Concept art of the Kallters

The Kallters are mystical people who live beyond the Icengate located in the Valley of the Hidden Dinosaur. They seem to be proficient in many languages, Klingon and Jorvegian among others. Very little is known about them, but they seem to have a unique bond with Jorvik's horses. Especially a breed that resembles the modern Fjord Horse.

Little is known about the reclusive people who live beyond the Icengate in the Valley of the Hidden Dinosaur. Their arrival on Jorvik predates any recorded history, causing some to speculate that they are the true "first people" of the island.

The Keepers of Aideen respect the privacy of the Kallter and have, in fact, helped to keep the Kallter's existence a secret from the populace at large. How ironic that we know less about these fellow Jorvegians than we do the beings off Pandoria!

Here is what we know to be true about the Kallter:

• They share a unique bond with Jorvik's horses, especially a breed that closely resembles the modern Fjord horse. (surely this means they are favored by Aideen?)
• They have shown an interest in trade with the outside world, but no curiosity about out affairs.
• Their society is pre-industrial, or rather, they show no evidence of using technology from the outside world.
• Living so close to the enigma that is "Garnok's Fury", they are exposed to magical energies beyond anything we in the rest of Jorvik can fathom.

There are legends of the Kallter having horses whose footsteps turn water to ice and serving a queen with a heart of ice, but these are just rumors and should be treated as such.

Until such time as the Kallter open their gate to us, we must respect their desire for secrecy. Aideen willing, that day will come soon...

• To legend they were led to the island by the "Star Horse".
• According to Linda in the Winter Comic Warm Wishes, the Kallter were Jorvik's first human settlers.
• The Kallters maintained a trading outpost in the Valley of the Hidden Dinosaur just outside the Icengate, but recently retreated back beyond it.
• The Keepers of Aideen think that the first generation Fjord horses that the Kallters once sold, are not actual Fjords, but a breed that closely resembles them.
