Message in a bottle
Message in a bottle is a hidden questline in Star Stable Online in which the player discovers and delivers a long-lost message.
Quest Activation Requirements
To have activate this quest, the player must:
- Be a Star Rider
- Have access to Fort Pinta
- Have access to Silverglade

Message in a bottle
Step 1
From Fort Pinta Beach, head North along the water until you reach the The Thorn Rocks.
There will be a bottle floating in the water next to a wagon wheel by a dock. (X: 256, Y: 233). Interact with the bottle to initiate the quest.
"A bottle! It looks like there is something in it. A letter! Let me read it."
"My dearest, I'm leaving Jorvik now and did not have time to say goodbye to you. My parents got the message that we needed to get on the first boat leaving the island. I never got your address, so I threw this message in a bottle from the boat hoping that it would reach you.

Goal: Find the tree in Hollow Woods that has a carving on it.
Step 2
The tree is at the begining of the tree line of the Hollow Woods (X: 224, Y: 172). From the Thorn Rocks, make your way Northwest across to the Golden Fields, just across the road from Marley's Silo. Continue North until you come upon the tree line of the Hollow Woods.
You should come across a large tree with the names "Landon" and "Anna" and a heart symbol carved into it (X: 224, Y: 172). Interact with the carving to continue the quest.

Return Message in a bottle
Oh dear, <Player Name>. it was a long time ago but I remember it like it was yesterday. Anna was an amazing person. We had a wonderful Summer together but she was just gone one day. Wait a second while I read her letter…
Hmm, so that's what happened. I wonder what things would have been like if she had stayed, or if I had received her letter 30 years ago. But life turned out okay, anyway good anyway! I have my dear sheep and rabbits and they give me the daily exercise I need.
But I need to reply to her letter anyway and in the same way, a message in a bottle. Fate will decide if my message gets to her faster or not, <Player Name>.
Here, take my letter. It's already in a bottle. Throw it in the water by Fort Pinta so it follows the current back to Anna. Where is a good place? Ask James, he should know.

Bottle-tossing
The pier near the bridge to Fort Pinta has to be the best place, <Player Name>. It's almost right underneath the bridge. Throw the bottle in there and I will look for it through my telescope to see that it is going the right way. I just hope the tide doesn’t bring it back ashore again.

Goal: Throw the bottle in the water and speak with James.
Step 5
James wants you to take the bottle from the solitary pier on the Southern side of Fort Pinta. Toss the bottle by interacting with the orange sparkles in the water and return to James.
I saw the bottle through my telescope, it hasn’t moved much yet. Come back tomorrow and I'll let you know if it goes out to sea with the tide later today.

Note: To continue the questline, you will have to return the next in-game day or pay to sleep over at a hostel.
After a day has passed, speak with James to see if the bottle was swept out to sea.

The tide didn’t take it out and just tossed it back up on the beach again. I went down and picked it up, but I’m not sure what to do now. How are we going to get it out far enough to reach the currents?
Shoot it out? Good idea! There are a lot of cannons here, that's true. I have a barrel full of gunpowder that we can use. It's up on the wall above the disco.

Goal: Get gunpowder from above the disco, then go talk to James again.
Step 7
The gunpowder is located in the fort pinta towers. Enter fort from the eastern tower and go up the stairs to the second floor. Head north into the middle most section of the fort and interact with the barrel with orange sparkles around it.
Once you have the powder return to James.
Good. Now we are ready to launch the bottle. I hope this works!
Cannon-mail
All the way up in Fort Pinta there's a cannon that might be perfect for this, <Player Name>. It's aimed straight out over thew ocean and isn't rusty at all. Ride back up on the wall and go as far up as you can. That's where you'll find the cannon I'm talking about.
Shoot out the bottle and come back here.

Goal: Shoot the bottle out of the cannon over the disco in Fort Pinta. Talk to James afterwards.
Step 8
Head to where you found the gunpowder. There will be a ramp on the other side of the corridor that takes you up to the third floor of the middle most tower of the fort. Drag the gunpowder to the back of the cannon and drag the bottle to the mouth of the cannon. Then click on the back of the cannon to fire it. Once that is done return to James.
Good shot, <Player Name>! I can already see it floating away over the horizon through my binoculars. Let's pray it reaches Landon’s old girlfriend.
