Etymology
The name Molly is a diminutive of the name Mary, developing from two other medieval diminutives Malle and Molle. Mary is the usual English form of Maria, the Latin form of the New Testament Greek names Μαριαμ (Mariam) and Μαρια (Maria) which were from the Hebrew מִרְיָם (Miryam). There are a number of theories about the root of the name but the most likely theory is it is originally an Egyptian name, perhaps derived in part from mry "beloved" or mr "love".
Trivia
- Molly is loyal to the Goldspur family, but it is unknown whether she's a part of the family or an employee.
