Etymology
The name Susanna comes from the Greek, Σουσαννα (Susanna), derived form the Hebrew name שׁוֹשַׁנָּה (Shoshannah), which is derived from the Hebrew word שׁוֹשָׁן (shoshan) meaning "lily" (in modern Hebrew this also means "rose"), thought to come from the Egyptian, sšn "lotus".
