Swedenborg is a dog owned by one of Jorvik's leading biological engineers, Berzelius. He is genetically modified which makes him one of the smartest animals in the world. He is located at Frozen Vale Lake, where he hosts the Hidden Dinosaur Race.
Etymology
opposite, unlike, averse," 1811, in a translation of Swedenborg; see antipathy + -ic. Perhaps modeled on French antipathique. In later use it tends to be a medical word for "producing contrary symptoms," in place of antipathic.
Trivia
- Swedenborg can sound like a horse, cat, goat, cow and chicken, but not a dog.
- The dog is thought to be named after the Swedish scientist Emanuel Swedenborg.
