No one really knows its previous whereabouts, but it's pretty obvious that the fridge is magic. Nic says that "It came to him," or something like that. In the Valley, when you get too close to the fridge, its aura turns red, so it basically "gets angry" for you getting too close. Kind of cool. Nic also explains that the fridge literally provides anything he wants; he just thinks of the item, reaches into the fridge, and boom! He has it! (Wish it could provide a Lifetime SSO membership.)
