The Valley of Frozen Mist

Valley of Frozen Mist is a small area in the northeastern part of the Valley of the Hidden Dinosaur. It is characterized by an open area with a large Ice tree in the middle, surrounded by frozen bushes. The portal shortcut through Pandoria to Epona can be found here.

History

In prologues made by Nic Stoneground, he tells the player about the history of the valley.

The Valley of Frozen Mist. We don't know much about it at all. I wonder if it was even accessible for the expeditions that went before us. There aren't even any maps or travel books about it.

I suspect, therefore, that the valley is relatively untouched and opened up at some point in the last century. Future explorations may tell us something else.

If one believes that the crater that emerged from the asteroid impact is greater than just the Valley of the Hidden Dinosaur, then maybe The Valley of Frozen Mist is testament to that. That's something for the geologists to figure out.

Trivia

• The tree in the Valley resembles both the Ancient Tree in the South Hoof Peninsula and the Forgotten Fields, possibly alluding to it being magical in nature.
• Snowfoxes can be found in the bush-covered area in front of the large tree, running away when the player gets too close. It is stated in the description of the Snowfox pet that they come from the Valley of the Hidden Dinosaur, so they may originate from this area. It is also stated there that they are very shy, which may explain why they run away when the player is in close proximity.
