Astrid is wearing the Jorvik Rangers uniform. The uniform consists of a red jacket with the Jorvik Rangers logo, three pockets, a green belt with a silver buckle, gold buttons, dark brown shoulder straps, and cuffs. She's wearing green pants, dark brown gloves, and boots decorated with gold details, green shoelaces, and soles. Astrid has on a beige hat with a green band, she has black-rimmed glasses, her dark brown hair is tied up in a ponytail and her eyes are brown.

The player first met Astrid on Rowan Allaway's expedition through Rovar's Gap to the abandoned Redwood Point ranger station. She is highly skeptical of the player the entire journey and assumed that they were cowering behind the other rangers. Ironically, Astrid was the first one to leave the expedition as she got caught in brambles that "moved on their own". Yousef Sahli left with Astrid to help her seek medical help. She later apologized to the player after Yousef tried to reason with her and Astrid admitted that she was still recovering from her previously alarming experience.

Journal entry

Astrid was born and raised in Mistfall, always exploring the nature of the area. It wasn't exactly her plan to become a Jorvik Ranger, but she was looking for a change of pace from her regular job at a convenience store in Jorvik City.

She loves the nature of the island in a very grounded way. This means that, oftentimes, she's quite dismissive of any folktales, leading her to clash with some other rangers.

Etymology

“Astrid” is a Scandinavian name taken from the Old Norse name Ásfriðr meaning “beautiful god”. “Ingvarsdottir” is an Icelandic or Old Norse surname following an Old Norse naming tradition of using a primary patronymic surname, which combines the genitive form of the father’s first name and a suffix specific to the child’s gender. The surname means “Ingvar’s daughter”. “Ingvars” (genitive of Ingvar) and “dóttir” (daughter)
