Plot

While Fripp is wondering if a special girl should arrive in Jorvik, Lisa comes to Jorvik Stables after being away on tour with her band. She reunites with Starshine and as they head out on a ride into the woods, she wonders about if she should stop playing the music and stay in Jorvik. As they ride towards the Forgotten Fields, Lisa sees a pink light, and together with Starshine she rides to investigate it. She does not notice that two Dark Riders are watching her, and when she has entered deep ravine, she is attacked by the riders. The Dark Riders use their magic to trap Lisa in Pandoria and then leave the scene to report to Mr. Sands.

At the Silverglade Vineyard, Alex and Linda work in the stable, and Linda tries to talk about what she recently read about in the library. Alex encourages her to continue working instead, and while they talk that they are worried that they haven't heard anything from Anne or Lisa for a very long time, the new girl Maya Dew accidentally drops a wheelbarrow full of manure from the manure stack right above both of them. Maya apologizes, but Linda gets angry, while Alex, on the other hand, laughs the thing off.

Later that day, Alex tries to take Linda to the café on the terrace of the Vineyard, but Linda would rather read about Jorvik's history in the Vineyard library. Alex meets Maya in the café. Maya is worried about having ruined her chances of becoming friends with Linda, but Alex reassures her that Linda is not angry, but is just too obsessed with her books. The girls talk and Maya tells her that she and her family live on the old farm at the Forgotten Fields, but because they are ashamed of how poor they are, they always hide as soon as anyone comes near the farm. She also says that G.E.D. is responsible for driving her family away from their old farm on the eastern slopes. Alex suggests taking revenge on G.E.D. together.

That same night, Alex and Maya sneak into the oil fields outside of the Vineyard and begin sabotaging G.E.D.'s machines. They ride quickly from there, after being discovered, but are happy to have managed to destroy quite a lot of equipment.

The next day outside the school in Jorvik City, they talk about last night, and Maya is eager to continue with more sabotaging the next night. Alex says she's already busy, and while Maya tries to persuade her, Linda shows up and tries to tell her about a discovery she made. Alex gets annoyed that no one is listening to her and leaves Linda and Maya.

That night, Alex talks to Tin-Can about their work with the Druids. Alex does not notice Linda being carried further away. While riding away with Tin-Can, Linda's glasses and mobile remain in the stables. Alex continues on to the fields and begins to measure Pandorian activity from various rune stones using magic. She doesn't notice Maya spying on her. Alex is wondering if there may be something strange about the barges she heard on Moorland's south shore and Tin-Can encourages her to investigate it.

Down at the beach, Alex sneaks around the workers working on the barges and discovers several containers that belong to Dark Core. Suddenly, she is discovered, and she uses magic to stop the Dark Core workers while running from there. Maya jumps out of a bush and happens to push Alex to the ground, and Alex quickly takes Maya from there. Maya saw the magic and tries to persuade Alex to tell her what she did, but Alex is worried about Dark Core and avoids responding. Back at Vineyard, Alex snatches Maya and goes to bed, but she's worried and can't sleep. Instead, she sits up late at night in one of the Vineyard's large halls and soon gets joined by Maya who has not been able to sleep either. Alex tells the legend of Aideen to Maya, and also talks about the Soul Riders and Dark Riders. She reveals that she is one of the Soul Riders, and Maya eagerly asks if she can also become one. Alex answers no and the girls go to bed again, while Alex continues to try to persuade Maya that she cannot become a Soul Rider.

Early the next morning, Alex rides to the Secret Stone Circle, where Elizabeth Sunbeam and Fripp are waiting. Alex talks about the increased Pandorian activity on Jorvik and while talking to Elizabeth, Fripp discovers that Maya has been spying on them in a bush. Elizabeth scolds Alex for letting Maya follow her while Fripp investigates Maya and concludes that she has no magic talent whatsoever. Maya and Alex ride home together, and both are annoyed - Maya on Fripp and Alex on Maya. Meteor asks Alex if she has seen Linda, but she avoids him and moves on.

The next morning at school, Maya tries to talk to Alex about the Druids, but Alex is still angry and goes to the stable alone.

In the Secret Stone Circle, Elizabeth seeks out Fripp to tell him that the Light Ceremony Book has been stolen. They are worried and Elizabeth heads to the Silverglade Vineyard. Here lies a heavy fog over the fields, where Alex helps Carney repair his irrigation system. Elizabeth and Alex meet and conclude that none of them have seen Linda in a long time, and Elizabeth asks Alex to seek out Nimbus. Tin-Can interrupts them and warns them that the Dark Riders are stealing Meteor in a truck. Alex and Tin-Can try to stop them but are hit by the Dark Riders' magic, while the villains get a head start. Alex and Tin-Can follow them down towards the Riding Arena with Elizabeth on her horse, but Elizabeth is also hit by magic and falls into the water with her horse while the Dark Riders' truck goes over to the Forgotten Fields. Alex realizes that she will not catch the truck that is on the way to a barge waiting for it at the beach, but suddenly Maya comes, who has seen the chase from the farm she lives on. She manages to open the truck's tailgate on the go and Meteor can jump out.

Alex catches up with Maya and Meteor and apologizes for being so angry. Elizabeth, who is unharmed, catches up with the girls and together they see how the truck goes on the barge and disappears. Elizabeth asks Alex to find Nimbus and bring him to the Moorland Stable, but Alex decides that she must find Linda first. Elizabeth is not happy, but Tin-Can and Meteor leave on their own while Maya promises to lend a horse to Alex while Tin-Can is gone. Alex stays with Maya while Tin-Can and Meteor slowly walk away and Elizabeth rides away in another direction.

A few days later, a bus goes through Silverglade. On the bus, a girl is on her way to a summer camp in the Moorland Stable. When she arrives, Fripp realizes that the hero has finally arrived in Jorvik.
