The Equestrian Festival is an annual event in early spring which lasts for four weeks. The event focuses on horse races and championships.

It is spread out across two areas: the traditional event area in Moorland and Jorvik Stables.

History

The first Equestrian Festival was released in April 2022, as the first part of the revamp of festivals. It included elements from the Jorvik Stables Open House and The Red String Trail Ride, and added new content as well.

The event returned again in April 2023 with a notable new addition of a dressage activity. Content from the previous year returned again this year.

The decorations for this event are mainly in the festival's main areas. Unlike other festivals, there are no home stable decorations. Common decorations include standing flags with the event's logo, balloons, and flowers. The colors for this event in 2022 were varying shades of green, yellow, and orange. In 2023, the color scheme was changed to shades of purple and yellow. The banner was also a different design in 2022: a white horse levading with roses below it and Aideen's Harp above it. The 2023 version was similar, but with a different size and a purple and yellow color scheme.

The Equestrian Festival has many quests and races available.

Tan is the main quest-giver in this event, giving the initial introductory quests along with the start of Sabine's quest line. Daily quests and races are hosted by multiple characters in the two main event hubs.

In 2023, an additional daily quest was added to the Moorland hub in which the player must equip clothing and tack items equipped of a certain theme. A dressage activity was also added.

The main questline in this event features the Soul Riders Alex and Linda and Dark Rider Sabine. While setting up a booth at Jorvik Stables for the festival, Alex, Linda, and the player find Sabine in the dressage arena and think that she must be up to something. The player must then confront her. This storyline was continued in 2023, in which the player must stop her from destroying the festival.

From races and quests that are parts of the event, Spring Tokens are given. These are a form of currency used during the event to purchase special clothing, horse tack, pets, and Hugh's vet service, which are only purchasable with these tokens. Another notable part of the festival is the high amount of Horse XP rewarded from its races. Shops are also available, selling tack and clothing sets returning from the Jorvik Stables Open House along with new sets.

There are also exclusive variations of horses available for purchase until the event is over. The breeds featured are:

• Arabian (Gen 3)
• English Thoroughbred (Gen 3)

Festival variations of the Generation 2 Lipizzaner horses were for sale for the final time in the 2022 event, and are no longer purchasable.

Trivia

The green screen at the Moorland hub

• This event was the first one to use the season tokens.
• Sabine and Khaan's new models made their debut in quests during the 2022 event.
• During the last week of the festival, the Horse XP received from races is doubled.
• The Moorland hub has a green screen which can be useful for editing photos and videos.
• In 2023, the Black Rabicano variation of the Arabian horse was not present for the first week of the event. This was confirmed to be a bug, and the horse was added for purchase the following week.^{[citation needed]}
