Laverne is Mr Sand's first subordinate. He only appears in the comic
Dark Core rising (comic)
Laverne appears in Starshine Legacy's comic: Dark Core rising.
Mr. Peterson was outraged due to the fact that he wasn't allowed to visit his daughter Lisa, who was feeling uneasy at the time. He demanded to see his daughter and move away from the platform, Laverne uses his taser in order to immobilize Mr. Peterson. He later informs Mr. Sands that Mr. Peterson became a problem.

- Laverne refers to Mr. Sands as Curator Sands.
- His right eye is artificial.
