"The American Quarter Horse is popularly known as 'America's Horse' and was the first breed considered native to the United States. The Quarter in it's name comes form its great speed at the quarter-mile distance, and these horses might very well be the world's most popular breed."

Level 3

Price: 650 SP

"The Appaloosa is another breed that stems from horses brought to North America by the Spanish. This particular breed came from horses of the Nez Perce Indians that lived by the Palouse River in Washington State, hence the name. The Appaloosa is a great family horse, since it's versatile enough to be used in almost any riding discipline."

Level 5

Price: 1250 SP

"The Choctaw is extremely hardy and has great stamina, but does not respond well to rough handling. It traces its origin back to the horses brought to North America by the Spanish. It has been bred by the Choctaw Indians and trained to have a strong sense of self-preservation. The Choctaw may have solid colors, or be roan, buckskin, grulla, leopard, or pinto."

Level 7

Price: 1900 SP

"The Kiger Mustang wasn't officially discovered until 1977, when they were isolated in the mountains out west. In order to maintain the purity of the original Spanish Mustang discovered in the Kiger Mustang, it is allowed to roam wild in Oregon on two special separate areas maintained by the government. It is excellent for all-around riding."

Level 9

Price: 2500 SP

"Some people refer to any wild horse as a mustang, but in order to be a true mustang a horse must be descended form the horses that were bought by the Spanish to the New World. Rough climate has turned the mustangs into tough horses, but they are all highly intelligent and demand to be treated with respect."

Level 11

Price: 6000 SP

Geography

Snake Bite Farm is the western-most settlement in the Jorvik map available in The Summer Rider. It is surrounded by low hills, making it in the middle of a small valley. Going along the road from the eastern entrance leads to either Coyote Ranch in the south-east and the Ghost House in the north-east direction. On top of two hills, in the north direction, are the Snake Bite Paddock and Snake Bite Lodge. Going further north from the lodge is where the Native American Camp can be found. The vegetation around the farm consists of leafy-trees and shrubbery.
