Summer Beach Party
The Summer Beach Party, also known as the Beach Party, Beach Festival, or Fort Pinta Festival, is an event typically held around the months of late June to late August. It generally lasts two to three weeks. During this event, players can help set up for the event, light lanterns in the sky, and party on the beach.
History
The first Summer Beach Party event was held in July of 2015. The first year's event introduced Tim Hooper, a fun-loving but confusing young man who tasked the player with setting up and maintaining the beach during the event. The event remained the same during the following year, but was given an update in 2017 with the introduction of Kylie Summerbreeze and her Chinese Lanterns which can be lit and flown off into the sky.
It returned each year since the first event except in 2021. The event had little to no changes except for slight aesthetics from the first time it was held until 2022.
In the 2022 iteration, Thalia and Mel hosted the event. Tim Hooper still appeared and gave daily quests and new race was added. Summer Tokens were also added, rewarded from the quests and races in the event. The event's reputation faction, the Fort Pinta Beach Association, did not return.
Appearance of Jorvik
Jorvik sports no distinctive decorations during this time except for directly on Fort Pinta Beach and inside the fort itself. The beach is set up with Tim's Drink Stand, a dance floor, and special lantern holders for players to light off lanterns. The other main decorations are hanging lanterns, and the main color theme is yellow, orange, and pink.
Quests and Races
The Summer Beach Party has a questline, and two exclusive races. Formerly, the first set of quests involved Tim giving the player quests to set up the area such as assembling the dance floor, preparing beach towels, mixing drinks, and blowing up beach balls. After the 2022 revamp of the event, the main quest line involves briefly setting up the dance floor and testing the races available.
The other quests involve Kylie giving the player an introductory lesson on how to work the Chinese Lanterns, catch-and-release fishing, and Tim Hooper's daily quests: cleaning the beach, feeding Bruce the shark, and collecting a shipment from the Fort Pinta Disco.
Additionally, Tim, gives the player access to a special race that runs through the Beach area and through the water.
Gifts and Rewards
The Summer Beach Party, like other events, has exclusive shops available where players can purchase past and current event items. One shop has items purchasable for Jorvik Shillings/Star Coins, and the other's items are only purchasable for Summer Tokens. However, unlike other event shops, some of these items formerly required the player to have a high reputation with the Fort Pinta Beach Association faction, which has since been removed.
Upon completion of the initial beach set-up quests, an item (typically clothing) will be received as a reward.
Completing Kylie's introductory quest and some of the daily quests will gift the player one or multiple Chinese Lanterns.
