Catherine Moorland
Catherine Holbrook Moorland was the daughter of Jasper Holbrook, wife of Thomas Moorland and mother of Justin Moorland. She died while giving birth to Justin, and her father, Jasper, blamed Thomas and Justin for her death.
Personality
Just like her son Justin, Catherine had a strong connection to the island's horses believing that she fits in better with horses than people, making her feel like a bit of an outcast.
Prior to Star Stable Online
Catherine was the daughter of Jasper Holbrook and had a strong connection to Jorvik's horses. As she was growing up, Catherine was introduced to the druids along with meeting Elizabeth and Eva, her sun and star sisters. They had a shared destiny of being the Soul Riders.
She kept a log of her adventures in her journal. Catherine had a hard time fitting in with other people but was thankful for Elizabeth's help. Catherine was brought under Avalon and Evergray's tutelage for training, and controlling her powers, as she was the fifth Soul Rider, meaning she had all four powers. She was often paired up with her Star sister Eva during her training sessions however one of them it led to an accident in Dino Valley which led to Starshine's previous incarnation being trapped in ice. This led to Catherine feeling the relationship between her and Eva was starting to wane. During one of Evergray's crazy training sessions, she went with him to Guardian's Dale to invoke a ritual for an unknown purpose, but it caused her beloved horse Nemo to disappear. She sought solace in Thomas Moorland and soon fell deeply in love with him. Her fellow sister of the Moon Circle tried to warn her of the possible dangers of this relationship, but Catherine paid her no attention. Shortly after this, the sister of the Moon Circle 'disappeared'. It wasn't long after, due to unknown forces, that the rest of the sisterhood fell into shambles, with her and Elizabeth being the only remains of the sisterhood.
After the sisterhood fell, Catherine and Thomas eloped under the Sleeping Widow and created her dream of the Moorland Stables. She became pregnant with a son and named him Justin, but tragically died birthing him.
Star Stable Online
The player learns of Catherine's death in trying to save Moorland Stables. Then, at the end of the Light Ride the player comes across her spirit believing she's Aideen and yet, she warns the player to keep the love between her sisterhood strong. She told the player to seek her out, so after discussing with Linda they manage to find her diary and backtrack through her past.
After collecting all the memories including in Doyle's Abbey; the player, Linda and Justin interact with Catherine's spirit again where she was happy to see the man her son had become. But when he says that everything he had done only brought things to ruin, she retorts telling them despite destiny and fate having their own pull we all must make our own way. Further saying that they didn't need to Aideen return because she lives on in the love forged from the true bonds between rider and horse as well as everyone is what she believes.
Overall, she tells Justin and the player to seek the destiny their hearts desire, aware that her time is up she bids the trio goodbye returning to the afterlife.

- Catherine died before the events of 'Star Stable Online'.
- Catherine was, according Elizabeth and Evergray, a Soul Rider. She was seen wielding the power of Soulstrike, which belongs to the lightning circle.
- However, according to Linda, she had the use of all four powers like the player.
- According to Thomas, Catherine's dream was to manage a riding camp at Moorland Stables.
- In the Light Ride, it is highly suspected the horse that Catherine bonded with before her death was the player's starter horse. As stated by Jasper, Catherine used to ride a horse named <player's horse name>.
- Through the new update involving Catherine's memories before bonding with the player's starter horse, she also bonded with one named Nemo.
- Like her son Justin, she too had a gift for bonding with horses to the point where she rode bareback.
- Catherine causing an accident with her Soul Strike is similar to what Alex did with her powers.
