Rocco is eager to welcome the player into the Warrior territory. Encouraged by Ash, he challenges the player to prove their strength in a drumming ceremony initiated by the Warrior Drummer that involved jumping and leaping as loud as they could on a large drum. Rocco was very impressed by the player's abilities and sends them off to find Juniper.

Later Willow met with Ash and Rocco to discuss about the Mystic shrines that kept getting trampled over. Rocco ordered Ash to stop criticising her sister and calls for a herd meeting with all three herds gathered under The Sentinel Tree. He apologised for Ash who "accidentally" trampled on the Mystics shrine. The herds agreed to stay in their own territories and not disrupt each other’s way of life.

Rocco is very passionate about the Warrior way of life. While digging up artifacts at the Ancient Coliseum, he noticed that Ash was on edge and confronts her about it. When Ash revealed she was scared and ashamed, Rocco reminds Ash that she is a very brave Warrior who the ancestors will be proud of, and that she couldn’t control what happened to Willow because she chose her own path. Rocco made a deal to keep her fear a secret for as long as Ash dug up artifacts with him.

In the quests with Gary Goldtooth, Rocco helps Athena set up a ceremonial pot smashing competition against the player to prove her strength for the outside world. He has faith in Athena though, warning the player the they should not underestimate her small size as she was raised to be a strong Warrior. When Willow brought them all news that Cedar was in great fear having lost his rider, Rocco encourages Ash to go with Gary to the outside world and save him reasoning that it was the opportunity for her to show her true Warrior side. After Ash returned, he did show curiosity about the outside world.

Journal entry

As the leader of the Warrior gym, Rocco wants the herd to be in top-notch fitness. And what better way to do that than smashing pots and racing around the Wildwoods? But don't assume him to be cold-hearted, for beneath his tough exterior is a kind soul that enjoys writing letters and sending Warrior trinkets to Forester horse Juniper.
