Ash does not take well to the player and horse entering the land of The Sentinel Tree. She questions the player about why they were still here in this uneventful place when most of the Warrior herd left to the "gray world" or the domesticated world. When the player and their horse enter the Warrior territory, Ash scolded Rocco about going too soft on the newcomers in his territory. At this, he challenges the player for an initiation ceremony that involves jumping onto a large drum.

When confronted by Willow’s accusations of destroying the Mystic shrines, she is still disappointed and betrayed about her sister, who gave up the Warrior way of life. She tries to make Willow doubt herself about being a true Mystic and return to the warrior ways. The player finds Rocco convincing the reluctant Ash and the player to dig around the Ancient Coliseum and create a new ancestral amulet. Ash revealed that she was scared of the Ancient Coliseum, as she could feel her ancestors' cold, judging eyes, making her feel ashamed that she couldn’t help Willow become a Warrior. Ash asked Rocco and the player to keep this a secret as it would taint her reputation as a cold-hearted Warrior; however, Rocco stated he would only do so if Ash came with him to dig up more artifacts every now and then.

In the quests with Gary Goldtooth, Ash scoffed at Athena's eagerness to enter the outside world calling it a "pile of junk" and scolding Gary for glorifying it. Encouraged by Willow and Rocco, she reluctantly goes with Gary and the player past Gray World Gap, to help the Jorvik Wild horse named Cedar who had recently lost his rider, Huck. She is more caring than she admits, as she is eager to know whether her fellow Warrior mare Tomyris had found a good home. Ash followed the player to meet Huck who guided them to Starshine Ranch where they met Scott Buttergood who was holding Cedar in captivity. As Carl could not help, Josh offered to help free the horse instead. Although Gary warned her of this, Ash slipped up a little and almost spoke in front of Josh.

After the trip to the "Gray World", Ash concluded that humans are strange creatures. She did not understand their bickering and lifestyle of living in cramped settlements. Although Ash she not change her perspective on the outside world, she showed some acceptance for the player.

Journal entry

Cynical and cold, Ash is quick to judge and even quicker to make an enemy of. Despite her coolness, there's something to admire in her determined spirit. She's willing to protect the Warrior herd and their way of living at all costs. Although they have drifted apart, she still cares deeply for her younger sister Willow.
