Renegade key
Renegade Keys, are an event item used during the Camp Western Event.

Appearance
Renegade keys appear inside and outside the player's inventory as an old-fashioned brass key with a scrap of red fabric tied around the end. It is a stackable object, meaning players can have more than one key take up a single slot in their inventory.
When outside the player's inventory, the key is surrounded by a glow and yellow sparkles.
Function
Renegade keys are used to open the five Renegade chests hidden around Firgrove each day of the event. When a player encounters chest, they simply have to interact with it, trade in the key and the chest will be unlocked, rewarding the player with items such as more renegade keys, herding lures, gold nuggets, beast repellant or summer tokens. If the player does not have any keys, the chests will not open. Opening these chests are part of a questline with Scott Buttergood and his Renegade posse.
The renegade key is a single use item. Once it is used it will disappear from the player's inventory. Additionally, the key only works on one chest each, thus if the player finds more than one chest, multiple keys will be used up.
How to obtain
Renegade keys are obtained during Camp western in multiple ways. They can be found floating around the Firgrove region of Jorvik, by opening Renegade chests, and by purchasing them from Gary's Goods shop for 100 gold nuggets.
Picking up a Renegade key around Firgrove will award the player with 50 horse XP for the horse they are currently riding.
Should a player want to sell their keys rather than trade them into Gary, they can sell it for 1 Jorvik Shilling each.
