Mr. Sands makes additional appearances in the following media.

Starshine Legacy

Mr. Sands is the primary antagonist in all four Starshine Legacy episodes.

Starshine Legacy 1: Mystery of the Soul Riders

While Lisa is riding Starshine, Mr. Sands makes a sudden and mysterious appearance at the Jorvik Stables riding ring. Due to his dark presence, Starshine weakens until he has collapsed onto the ground. When rushed over to the stables to be examined the vet, Mr. Sands attempts to bribe Herman with money in exchange for Starshine. Herman refuses, and Mr. Sands leaves the scene. Sometime after these events, Mr. Sands sends Dark Core goons to disable Herman and steal Starshine.

After Lisa travels to Dark Core HQ, she is guided by Starshine's voice to where he is being held inside the complex and facility in an automated cage. Once she reaches Starshine, she uses her powers from the Star Circle to heal him, but is caught by Mr. Sands soon thereafter who threatens her when she is set on escaping. In turn, he sends his goons after Lisa, but she escapes unscathed.

Starshine Legacy 2: Secret of Pine Hill Mansion

Linda comes upon a very old picture of Pine Hill Mansion when looking through Jorvik High School's trophy cabinet, and picks out Mr. Sands in it, heightening suspicions that he is immortal. Curiosity piqued, she tells Lisa who excitably suggests that they go to Pine Hill Mansion and see if they can find more clues about Mr. Sands. While Linda is riding in the ring a little while later, she is given vivid visions of Pine Hill Mansion and the dam in Jorvik City.

Mr. Sands is seen in the courtyard of Pine Hill Mansion with two goons while Lisa and Linda are in the conservatory. They listen to the conversation, hearing the group of three discuss a bomb and plans to presumably bring harm to Herman. Lisa and Linda quickly ride out into the night and reach Jorvik Stables before Mr. Sands and his goons can, locking them.

The next day, Linda rides with Meteor and deactivates the bomb which temporarily disables Mr. Sands' deadly plans.

Starshine Legacy 3: Legend of Pandoria

Mr. Sands has put up a fight; more goons are present in the area - and Jessica, one of Garnok's Generals, has been employed to wreak havoc. Dark Core steal pictures taken of Anne and Concorde, who is mysteriously winged like a pegasus when taken.

At the end of the episode, Anne and Concorde go to a Dark Core coastal base to retrieve the photos from Mr. Sands and Jessica. Anne finds the two by a portal which they intend to release Garnok with. After a short confrontation, Concorde teams up with Anne and kicks both Mr. Sands and Jessica into the portal.

Starshine Legacy 4: The Riddle of Dark Core

At the Secret Stone Circle, Alex meets Fripp who reveals to her that Mr. Sands is one of Garnok's Generals who has materialised himself on Earth, while his body is trapped on Garnok's ship at the bottom of the sea. He is on Earth to free Garnok, his master; a being of an evil power. After Lisa lets Alex know that her father has been called away to the 'Gar-Nok' project in the middle of nowhere, she rides out to the site with Tin-Can to investigate more.

In the underground facility, Mr. Sands is wheelchair-bound and his powers greatly weakened after being kicked into the portal and sent back to Garnok's ship. He claims that it'd take years before he gained back his powers to be fully functional once again. He is holding James, Alex's younger brother, so that she will exchange Tin-Can for him - who may be used as a sacrifice to free Garnok from his ship. After Alex challenges Katja in a bet to release James in a race, James is given a vision that Mr. Sands had activated the four seals that would bring about Jorvik's doom. His ultimate plan is to take the power from the Soul Riders and use it establish Garnok as master; a plan that would cause the four girls to perish.

Soon afterwards, all four Soul Riders ride into Pandoria, breaking all seals so that Mr. Sands would not be able to carry out his plans. Garnok and his Generals are stopped, but not eradicated.

Star Stable: The Winter Rider

In Star Stable: The Winter Rider, Mr. Sands lives at the Pine Hill Mansion, but in comparison to earlier, and later installations, Mr. Sands is not an antagonist. He has a grumpy personality but allows the player to participate in the Decker Horse Show and is even being described to have a smile in the end credits. However, before the player is able to participate in the Decker Horse Show, Mr. Sands requires the player to prove themselves. First, his own track 'Pine Hill Race' has to be won once. After that he allows the player to talk to Mr. Gilligan, the manager of his stable at Pine Hill, who requires the player to first do a round of chores before he sends the player to Mr. Peebles at Pine Hill Riding Ring. Mr. Peebles is responsible for the 'Pine Hill Grand Prix', which has to be won once and after the player reaches level 11, Mr. Sands sends a text explaining he has allowed the player to fight for the spot for the Decker Horse Show with Sabine. After this, the Decker Horse Show competition is unlocked.

Star Stable: The Summer Rider

In Star Stable: The Summer Rider, Mr. Sands is angry at Herman with the replica castle he has built, Herman Castle, as he finds it bigger and prettier than his own Pine Hill Mansion. Therefore, he requests to see the building permit for the castle, and if he doesn't get it in time, he will call for the bulldozers to destroy it. Mr. Sands was on his way back to call for the bulldozers, but the player is able to bring the papers to him before he gets back, thanks to his minions crashing in the Old Swamp. To this, he tells the player to inform Herman that this is not over, he will get it torn down in any way possible.

Soul Riders book series

Soul Riders: Jorvik Calling

Mr. Sands first shows up when he drives to the school where the Riders of Souls study and talks to Sabine. He later calls her and Jessica to a meeting at the Cape Point oil rig to inform them that the Third General will be arriving in Jorvik soon. At the end of the book, the man orders his staff to imprison Lisa's father, who unfortunately was passing through the helipad and overheard the conversation between Mr. Sands and Katja.

Soul Riders: Legend Awakens

Mr. Sands has the Generals track the Soul Riders and listens to their progress reports. Its purpose is to sacrifice Starshine, Tin-Can, Concorde, and Meteor to use their magical energy to release Garnok.

With Katja's help, he locks Lisa in a cage, which he makes fun of and taunts at.

While in the library at the Pine Hill Mansion, Linda discovers that Mr. Sands began to hear a voice after the death of his beloved Rosalinda, who was presumed a witch. That voice turned out to be Garnok, with whom the man made some kind of contract in exchange for immortality.

Soul Riders: Darkness Falling

Mr. Sands steals the magic energy from the Soul Riders, but Concorde throws it into the portal. After a while, he manages to get out of it to free Garnok, but the monster's arrival in Jorvik isn't quite what he imagined.
