Description

"Once upon a time, a down-on-her-luck apprentice stable hand left the safety of home and stable to seek her fortune. Through trials and tribulations, she made her way to the very heart of Jorvik, beyond the fabled Ashlands, into the crater of Garnok's Fury.

The Young hero returned with two impossibly large gems. Thinking her fortune made, she headed home to present her treasures to the queen, but before her audience, the gems split open, revealing a pair of scaly dragons. In the blink of an eye, the dragons transformed into majestic horses! Called in to present her gift to the queen, the girl had nothing to give but a fantastic tale and two seemingly ordinary horses.

Faramawr the green embodies prosperity and life thriving after disaster, like the fertile soil and new islands formed in the wake of a volcanic eruption. They also represent precious minerals and jewels born of fire. Faramawr reminds us to seize opportunity before it passes by. This is a proud beast who requires hard work and patience before it will go under saddle, and its favor can be lost in an instant if it senses a decline in your bold spirit. But if you rise to the challenge and persist, you will be rewarded with a trusted and devoted friend.

Dragon horses are notoriously vain, which is why they disguise themselves as Friesians, considering the breed the most beautiful and regal of all horses. Few can see through the illusion, and they only choose to reveal their true forms to those they deem worthy."

Unique Features

Color Changing

The Faramawr is a magical horse with the special ability to change colors. When the player presses the "h" key or the magic horse icon on the horse's character sheet, the horse will change from its neutral colors to its natural (magic) colors and vice versa. The horse will not change colors during races or while the player is unmounted.

The Canter Pirouette

Note: The horse must reach level 7 to perform this move.

As the Faramawr shares its model with the Gen 3 Jorvik Friesians, it can perform their special move called the Canter Pirouette. The animation can be activated by pressing the spacebar, but only when standing still; otherwise, the horse will jump instead of performing the move.

Trivia

  • The Faramawr uses the Jorvik Friesian model.
  • The Faramawr was released as a pair with Aldrach.
  • The Faramawr, like most other Magic Horses, cannot have its hairstyle changed.
  • The name Faramawr is a compound of the Germanic name Faramund (or Tolkienian name Faramir), and the English word "maw."
    • Faramund is derived from the elements fara "journey" and mund "protection",[8] while Faramir is derived from the fictional Elvish roots far “hunter” or fara “sufficient” and mir “jewel”.[9]
    • Maw means “the jaws or throat of a voracious animal.” Derived from the Old English maga “stomach”.[10]
