Description
"All Hallows' eve. On this day, the veil between the world of the living and the departed is the thinnest. Spirits can pass from our world to and theirs as they please. On the island of Jorvik, this is when Tombhoof can roam freely.
Tombhoof are the forgotten spirits of horses who once lived. They come to Jorvik to be remembered. By bonding with a human, they get a chance to live again, in their own spectral way.
Tombhoof is found in the lush green of the Forgotten Fields, where many a Jorvegian has claimed to see a ghostly herd of horses, roaming among the midnight mists.
The ghostly nature of Tombhoof has turned them into quite shy creatures, so it will take a while for them to warm up to you and the other horses in your stable. But once you do become friends, you gain loyalty and devotion like no other.
On Jorvik, death is not something to be feared. It is a part of the cycle of life. Nature dies in the winter to bloom again in the spring. People say goodbye to their loved ones, but they are kept alive through memories. And the horses of Jorvik become one with the Earth [sic], only to come back as the legendary Tombhoof and roam the lands once more.
Magic Horses on Jorvik are creatures of stories and folklore. As the tales are passed down over the ages, the legends of these horses have been kept alive.
Like other Magic Horses in Jorvik, Tombhoof shows its true colors in wild places and will conceal its appearance in populated areas. Whether in its magical form or disguised to blend in with other horses, Tombhoof rides just like the American Quarter Horse it most resembles."
Unique Features
Color Changing
The Tombhoof is a magical horse with the special ability to change colors. When the player presses the "h" key or the magic horse icon on the horse's character sheet, the horse will change from its neutral colors to its natural (magic) colors and vice versa. The horse will not change colors during races or while the player is unmounted.
The Reining Spin
Note: The horse must reach level 7 to perform this move.
The Tombhoof can perform a special move called the Reining Spin. The animation can be activated by pressing the space bar, but only when standing still, otherwise the horse will jump instead of performing the move.
The Reining Slide Stop
While all of the horses in Star Stable will technically come to a "Hard stop" if the payer presses the "X" button when in a full gallop, the Tombhoof has a special stop method found in western reigning. When it is in full gallop and the player goes for a hard stop, the horse will instead perform a "Slide stop."
The Reining Back Up
While all of the horses in Star Stable will back up if the payer presses the "down arrow" or "S" buttons when at a standstill, the Tombhoof has a special backing method found in western reining. When it is standing still and the player goes to back up, the horse will instead perform a "Reining Back Up," which is much faster than the regular backing up speed of other breeds.
Colors, Pricing, and Location
The Tombhoof is sold for 950 SC and can be purchased during Halloween in the Galloper's Keep. It comes in one variation.
Note: This horse is released for limited periods of time and is not always in the game.
- Natural color: Light blue/grey coat with visible skeletal structure
- Neutral color: Silver Black Brindle

- The Tombhoof uses the G3 American Quarter Horse model.
- The Tombhoof, like most other Magic Horses, cannot have its hairstyle changed.
- The name Tombhoof is a combination of two words: "tomb," a large vault, typically an underground one for burying the dead,[6] and "hoof," the tip of a toe of an ungulate mammal.[7]
