The Nixie is a magic horse breed that is available in Star Stable Online.

| January 11, 2016 | @My_Star_Stable_Horse posts nine pictures spelling out a description of the Jorvik Wild Horse, and the final picture has a post linking players to the first contest account to choose the color of the horse.[11] |
| April 24, 2016 | SSO advertises a competition on their regular account to help create a "Jorvik Wild Horse", and links players to the @My_Star_Stable_Horse account. The contest will have three winners, and those horses will be put in the game. |

| May 25, 2016 | The contest winners are announced on SSO's YouTube channel. |

Description
Old Description 1
"Around Jorvik's less accessible spots, herds of free-roaming Jorvik Wild Horses can be found. This breed is thought to be particularly special due to the vibrant colours and patterns on the horses' body and coat. Colours such as blue, red, green, purple and orange aren't unusual, and even the horses' eyes can be unusually coloured in violet, red or clear blue.
This horse is believed to have emerged in symbiosis with the Pandoric energy flows, which is said to explain their unique colouring. Many also believe the horses to have certain magical abilities. Jorvik Wild Horses are usually a little shorter and more thick -bodied than most - similar to the Fjord Horses - but can also have other variations in the height of their withers.
Their unique colours and patterns don't ever seem to show up when they're around civilization, but they display at their strongest when out in nature."

"Jorvik is home to beautiful and majestic horse breeds from around the world, but the most amazing horses of all can only be found on this island. Horses with manes and tails in rainbow colors beyond imagination, horses that shimmer like jewels or burn with the fury of the elements -- theses are the Jorvik Wild Horses!
'Jorvik Wild' isn't a breed but rather a trait that can manifest in any horse born feral in the remote corners of the island. In olden ties, the vibrant hues and mystical qualities of the Jorvik Wild were the stuff of myths and legends. Only the Keepers of Aideen know the truth -- that the Jorvik Wild's appearance is a response to Pandoric energy flow. This explains why the horses hide their true state around towns and cities, only revealing their true form in nature, where Pandoric energy is stronger.
The Jorvik Wild trait cannot be passed on via breeding, which makes these horses exceedingly rare. Only those handlers with the Wild Whispering gift can entice them (to) go under saddle. To ride one requires a special bond indeed."

"Magic Horses on Jorvik are creatures of stories and folklore. As the tales are passed down over the ages, the legends of these horses have been kept alive.
Nixie are small yet hardy horses that roam the secluded valleys of Jorvik. In Jorvegian legend, these horses are fabled to be the guardians of waterways, It's said that if you watch a waterfall as the sun is setting, you can see Nixie standing at the top of the falls, surveying the land.
Like other Magic Horses in Jorvik, Nixie shows its true colors in wild places and will conceal its appearance in populated areas. Whether in its magical form or disguised to blend in with other horses, Nixie rides just like the Icelandics it most resembles"
Unique Features
Color Changing
The Nixie is a magical horse with the special ability to change colors. When the player presses the "h" key or the magic horse icon on the horse's character sheet, the horse will change from its neutral colors to its natural (magic) colors and vice versa. The horse will not change colors during races or while the player is unmounted.
Colors, Pricing, and Location
The Nixie is sold for 399 SC. They are sold by Gary Goldtooth and come in the three, contest winning variations:

First Place Winner
- Natural color: Purple with faint lilac colored leopard spots on back.
- Neutral color: Light grey with black socks and black mane
Second Place Winner
- Natural color: Blue with lighter blue socks and mane
- Neutral color: A slightly darker grey with black-ish mane
Third Place Winner
- Natural color: Dark black-looking brown with red socks and mane
- Neutral color: Black with black mane
Purple and Grey to Grey
Blue to Dark Grey
Red and Black to Black
Trivia
- The Nixie uses the G2 Icelandic Horse model.
- The Nixie, like most other Magic Horses, cannot have its hairstyle changed.
- Originally, the Nixie was the only Magic Horse breed in the game that could have its hairstyle changed at the Horse Stylist. This feature was removed sometime in 2021.
- The Nixie was the first horse to be customized by players.
- The Nixie is the only Magic horse breed in-game that does not share all of the attributes of the breed it uses the model of.
- The Icelandic can Tölt whereas the Nixie cannot.
- The Nixie was originally slower than regular horses when it was first released. On the 12th of September 2019, The Nixies were updated to run at the same speeds as the other horse breeds.[13]
- Originally the Nixies were going to be put on edited versions of the Gen 1 Fjord horses, but they were changed to the Icelandic model sometime before their release.
