The Kátur is a magic horse breed that is available in Star Stable Online.

Description
"The lovable Kátur is often mistaken for your typical Icelandic horse, but there's more to this little fellow than meets the eye! Hundreds of years ago, he belonged to a man who, after giving away all of his wealth, traveled the countryside with Kátur helping the sick and poor, and bringing joy to children - especially during the dark winter months.
To this day, winter remains Kátur's favorite season - he lives for the excitement in the chilly air! Rolls in the snow and nights beneath the open winter sky keep this ancient, fluffy guy young. Snacking on peppermints and cookies keeps him happy!
While you can take the horse out of the snow, you'll never get the snow out of this horse! No matter the season, Kátur's magic hides an adorably frosty coat and whiskers!"
Unique Features
Color Changing
The Kátur is a magical horse with the special ability to change colors. When the player presses the "h" key or the magic horse icon on the horse's character sheet, the horse will change from its neutral colors to its natural (magic) colors and vice versa. The horse will not change colors during races or while the player is unmounted.
The Tölt
Note: The horse must reach level 7 to perform this gait.
While most breeds in SSO only have five gaits, the Kátur has six. This special gait is called the "tölt". In SSO no other horse breed is able to Tölt. To Tölt, the horse must be walking or trotting. The player then must hold down the 'Shift' key and then simultaneously hit either the up arrow or the 'W'. The Kátur will then begin to Tölt. During the Tölt, the horse cannot move to a faster gait or jump. To stop Tölting, simply slow your horse down like you would with any other.
The Flying Pace
While all of the breeds in SSO have five gaits; Walk → Trot → Canter → Gallop → Fast Gallop, the Kátur replaces the gallop with a special gait called the Flying Pace. The Kátur can jump from a Flying Pace, just as it would be able to do in a gallop.
Colors, Pricing, and Location
The Kátur is sold for 950 SC and can be purchased during Winter Festival in the Winter Village. It comes in one variation.
Note: This horse is released for limited periods of time and is not always in the game.

Trivia
- The Kátur uses the G3 Icelandic Horse model.
- The Kátur was released as a pair with the Sylvan Unicorn.
- The Kátur, like most other Magic Horses, cannot have its hairstyle changed.
- At night, the snow-covered parts of its magical coat have a slight blue glow effect.
- Its name means "jolly," "glad," or "cheerful" in the Icelandic and Faroese languages.[8]
- While the Kátur is described as a stallion/gelding within the in-game description, players can still choose to label the horse as a mare in the customization settings.
