Description
"Phoebe, born under a full moon, was bathed in its radiant light. The glow marked her forever after. The foal was whimsical and joyful and drawn to blooming flowers and pools of clear water.
Phoebe grew up under the watchful eyes of Nanny, the old soul who had tended Phoebe's mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and oh, who can count back further than that!? Nanny had provided eons of care and guidance to the family of unicorns, for it takes a century for a Foal to mature into her power.
Phoebe never did grow out of her ethereal nature, and to Nanny's distress, is often so caught up in the beauty of things that she fails to notice any danger of, say, tumbling over a waterfall or wandering into a den of bears.

Unique Features
Color Changing
The Phoebe is a magical horse with the special ability to change colors. When the player presses the "h" key or the magic horse icon on the horse's character sheet, the horse will change from its neutral colors to its natural (magic) colors and vice versa. The horse will not change colors during races or while the player is unmounted.
The Paso Largo
Note: The horse must reach level 7 to perform this gait.
While most breeds in SSO only have five gaits, the Phoebe has six. This special gait is called the Paso Largo. To make your horse do this gait, the horse must be walking or trotting. The player then must hold down the Shift key and then simultaneously hit either the up arrow or the 'w' key. The Tynan will then begin to perform the special gait. During this gait, the horse cannot move to a faster gait or jump. To stop the Paso Largo, simply slow your horse down like you would with any other.
The Classic Fino
Note: The horse must reach level 7 to perform this move.
The Phoebe can perform a special move called the Classic Fino. The animation can be activated by pressing the spacebar, but only when standing still, otherwise the horse will jump instead of performing the move.
The Reining Slide Stop
While all of the horses in star stable will technically come to a "Hard stop" if the player presses the "X" button when in a full gallop, the Phoebe has a special stop method found in western reining. When it is in full gallop, and the player goes for a hard stop, the horse will instead perform a "Slide stop."
Colors, Pricing, and Location
The Phoebe is sold for 950 SC and can be found in Valedale Village. It comes in one variation.
- Natural color: Blue-grey stone-like body covered in vines, with green vine-like mane and tail.
- Neutral color: Silver Black
Trivia
- The Phoebe uses the Paso Fino model.
- The Phoebe was released as a pair with Tynan.
- The Phoebe, like most other Magic Horses, cannot have its hairstyle changed.
- At night, its legs, horn, flowers on its back, eyes, and underbelly glow a bright teal.
- The name Phoebe is a Latinized form of the Greek name Φοίβη (Phoibe), meaning "bright, pure" from Greek φοῖβος (phoibos). In Greek mythology Phoibe was a Titan associated with the moon and grandmother to Artemis.[4]
- The Phoebe appears to take inspiration from both unicorns and Water horse myths found in cultures all over the world.[5][6]
- While the Phoebe is described as female within the in-game description, players can still choose to label the horse as a gelding or stallion in the customization settings.
- Phoebe and Tynan both have short hidden quests in the Hollow Woods. They involve the player helping the horses' pet companions to find the horses in the woods.[3] Phoebe's quest with Nanny the goat can be found near the shore of the Silversong River in Avalon's Meander.
