Description
"Legends passed down through ages and across cultures around the world recount the Sylvan Unicorn as an ethereal and mystical creature tied to love, light, and innocence. It once roamed freely, but as civilization grew, mankind's selfishness and suspicion left it with few safe spaces, and so it kept itself hidden.
Ancient accounts describe it as hauntingly beautiful with a silky white mane, tail, and coat. In its true form, its magical horn and elegant beard are visible, but this shy unicorn typically conceals itself as a grey horse.
This winter, after centuries, the Sylvan unicorn has emerged from its refuge! Guided to Jorvik by the powerful warmth and camaraderie, it seeks someone with whom to share the special bond between horse and human that Aideen so cherished.

Unique Features
Color Changing
The Sylvan Unicorn is a magical horse with the special ability to change colors. When the player presses the "h" key or the magic horse icon on the horse's character sheet, the horse will change from its neutral colors to its natural (magic) colors and vice versa. The horse will not change colors during races or while the player is unmounted.
The Paso Largo
Note: The horse must reach level 7 to perform this gait.
While most breeds in SSO only have five gaits, the Sylvan Unicorn has six. This special gait is called the Paso Largo. To make your horse do this gait, the horse must be walking or trotting. The player then must hold down the Shift key and then simultaneously hit either the up arrow or the 'w' key. The Sylvan Unicorn will then begin to perform the special gait. During this gait, the horse cannot move to a faster gait or jump. To stop the Paso Largo, simply slow your horse down like you would with any other.
The Classic Fino
Note: The horse must reach level 7 to perform this move.
The Sylvan Unicorn can perform a special move called the Classic Fino. The animation can be activated by pressing the spacebar, but only when standing still, otherwise the horse will jump instead of performing the move.
The Reining Slide Stop
While all of the horses in star stable will technically come to a "Hard stop" if the player presses the "X" button when in a full gallop, the Sylvan Unicorn has a special stop method found in western reining. When it is in full gallop, and the player goes for a hard stop, the horse will instead perform a "Slide stop."
Colors, Pricing, and Location
The Sylvan Unicorn is sold for 950 SC and can be purchased during Winter Festival in the Winter Village. It comes in one variation.
Note: This horse is released for limited periods of time and is not always in the game.
- Natural color: Light Grey with glowing horn, hair, and legs.
- Neutral color: Fleabitten Grey

- The Sylvan Unicorn uses the Paso Fino model.
- The Sylvan Unicorn was released as a pair with Kátur.
- The Sylvan Unicorn, like most other Magic Horses, cannot have its hairstyle changed.
- At night, its legs, horn, and mane have a slight blue glow effect.
- Its name is a combination of "sylvan," meaning "related to the woods or forest" or "one that frequents the woods or forest,"[7] and "unicorn," referring to the singular horn on its head.[8]
- The Sylvan Unicorn is based on the unicorns in mythology and folklore around the world. They are often depicted as a white horse with a singular horn, cloven hooves, and sometimes a beard. They also typically are described as living in forests, possibly the inspiration for "sylvan" in its name.[9]
