Description
"Lebkuchen awoke in a dark German forest with a vague memory of a wizened old lady and her “tasteful” cottage. As he struggled to gather his thoughts, a little gumdrop nose popped into view as a voice urged him to “macht schnell!” (hurry up!) He licked his forelock. Mmm! Frosting!
As many horses have done over the centuries, Lebkuchen made his way to the haven of Jorvik. His companion, a gnome called Gumdrop, helped him remember the witch they encountered and the Gingerbread Spell she cast upon them. Thank goodness they weren’t eaten. They decided that they were happy enough to live ever after in Jorvik’s Winter Village, where Lebkuchen was even able to return to his old Lippi self on occasion.
If you love a horse with a snappy and sweet (almost good enough to eat) temperament, you’ll be very happy to bond with Lebkuchen."
Unique Features
Color Changing
The Lebkuchen is a magical horse with the special ability to change colors. When the player presses the "h" key or the magic horse icon on the horse's character sheet, the horse will change from its neutral colors to its natural (magic) colors and vice versa. The horse will not change colors during races or while the player is unmounted.
The Levade
While all of the horses in Star Stable will rear if the payer presses the "X" button when at a walk, trot, or while backing up, the Lebkuchen has a special rear called the "Levade," a controlled rear-like action. When the horse is at walk, trot, or is backing up, and player goes for a hard stop, the horse will perform the "Levade."
The Passage
Note: The horse must reach level 7 to perform this gait.
While most breeds in SSO only have five gaits, the Lebkuchen has six. This special gait is called the "Passage," a movement used in upper-level dressage. To make your horse do this gait, the horse must be walking or trotting. The player then must hold down the Shift key and then simultaneously hit either the up arrow or the 'w' key. The Lebkuchen will then begin to perform the special gait. During this gait, the horse cannot move to a faster gait or jump. To stop the Passage, simply slow your horse down like you would with any other.
The Capriole
Note: The horse must reach level 7 to perform this move.
The Lebkuchen can perform a special move called the Capriole, a controlled jump-in-place. The animation can be activated by pressing the spacebar, but only when standing still, otherwise the horse will jump instead of performing the move.
Tack
The Lebkuchen can wear the following tack.

Trivia
- The Lebkuchen uses the G3 Lipizzaner model.
- The Lebkuchen was released as a pair with Vetle.
- The Lebkuchen, like most other magic horses, cannot have its hairstyle changed.
- The name Lebkuchen is of German origin and is a type of honey-sweetened German cake, molded cookie, or bar cookie, associated with German Christmas celebrations. It is similar to gingerbread.[5]
- The first part, Leb-, is of uncertain meaning. It could be from: the Latin libum (flat bread), the Germanic word Laib (loaf), the Germanic word lebbe (very sweet). Another possibility is it comes from the old German term Leb-Honig (a solid crystallized honey taken from the hive unable to be used for anything other than baking), Folk etymology associates it with Leben (life), Leib (body), or Leibspeise (favorite food).[5]
- The second part, Kuchen, means 'cake'.[5]
- There are a variety of types of Lebkuchen differentiated by the type of nuts used in their preparation and the shapes they are molded into.[5]
- The Lebkuchen in-game is likely a reference to Honigkuchenpferd, meaning "Honey Cake Horse", the German equivalent of gingerbread man cookies.[6]
- While the Lebkuchen is described as male within the in-game description, players can still choose to label the horse as a mare in the customization settings
