The Tynan is a magic horse breed that is available in Star Stable Online.

Description
"Tynan was born on a moonless night. He was a contemplative foal-a young philosopher in a society of mystics. To encourage a sense of play, his parents invited woodland creatures to their home to tutor him in the art of fun. One funny little fellow caught Tynan's attention because who can resist a SQUIRREL! The little creature was also dark as night, but having been a bright little soul since his time in the nest, he was aptly named Sterling. The two forged an unbreakable bond.
On occasion, when Sterling coaxes Tynan into a game of chase or hide-and-seek, Tynan wanders off to puzzle over a riddle or math problem, and stands so still that his little companion despairs of ever finding his friend again!

Unique Features
Color Changing
The Tynan is a magical horse with the special ability to change colors. When the player presses the "h" key or the magic horse icon on the horse's character sheet, the horse will change from its neutral colors to its natural (magic) colors and vice versa. The horse will not change colors during races or while the player is unmounted.
The Paso Largo
Note: The horse must reach level 7 to perform this gait.
While most breeds in SSO only have five gaits, the Tynan has six. This special gait is called the Paso Largo. To make your horse do this gait, the horse must be walking or trotting. The player then must hold down the Shift key and then simultaneously hit either the up arrow or the 'w' key. The Tynan will then begin to perform the special gait. During this gait, the horse cannot move to a faster gait or jump. To stop the Paso Largo, simply slow your horse down like you would with any other.
The Classic Fino
Note: The horse must reach level 7 to perform this move.
The Tynan can perform a special move called the Classic Fino. The animation can be activated by pressing the spacebar, but only when standing still, otherwise the horse will jump instead of performing the move.
The Reining Slide Stop
While all of the horses in star stable will technically come to a "Hard stop" if the player presses the "X" button when in a full gallop, the Tynan has a special stop method found in western reining. When it is in full gallop, and the player goes for a hard stop, the horse will instead perform a "Slide stop."
Colors, Pricing, and Location
The Tynan is sold for 950 SC and can be found in Valedale Village. It comes in one variation.

Trivia
- The Tynan uses the Paso Fino model.
- The Tynan was released as a pair with Phoebe.
- The Tynan, like most other Magic Horses, cannot have its hairstyle changed.
- At night, its horn, mane, and tail have a slight white glow effect.
- The name Tynan is an Anglicized form of the Gaelic surname "O Teimhneain." It is derived from the word "teimhean," meaning "dark."[4]
- The Tynan is based on the unicorns in mythology and folklore around the world. While modern depictions are that of a white horse with a singular horn, cloven hooves, and sometimes a beard, early descriptions written by ancient Greek historians differed greatly. Ctesias, for example, was taught about Unicorns in Persia, where the beast is described as a fleet-footed wild ass, with a singular horn, and was colored white, red and black.[5]
- While the Tynan is described as male within the in-game description, players can still choose to label the horse as a mare in the customization settings.
- Phoebe and Tynan both have short hidden quests in the Hollow Woods. They involve the player helping the horses' pet companions to find the horses in the woods.[3] Tynan's quest with Sterling the squirrel can be found near Hollowbloom Hideaway.
